Andrew

Hey everyone, I’m Andrew. I grew up in Boulder, Colorado and studied architecture at the University of Colorado. After completing my degree in 2010, I served as a civil engineering officer in the U.S. Air Force and earned my airplane private pilot license during my free time. After separating from the military, I moved to Portland, Oregon in 2017 to learn how to fly helicopters at Hillsboro Heli Academy. I stayed in Portland for several more years as a flight instructor, and later as a copilot in the CH-54 Sikorsky Skycrane doing aerial firefighting.

In early 2024, I jumped on the opportunity to start a new chapter in my career by moving to Hilo, Hawaii to fly for Safari Helicopters. When I’m off work, I love reading, watching documentaries, solving puzzles, snorkeling, hiking, golfing, and exploring the diverse parts of Hawaii on foot. But nothing beats being able to see this incredible island from the air and getting to share that experience with my passengers. I look forward to flying with you!
